November 3, 2017 from 11:00 to 14:00 in the premises of the Innovation Park Unit.City (Kiev, street. Dorogozhitskaya, 1) the presentation of the competition on IT entrepreneurship among girls Technovation Challenge 2018 will take place and discussion of opportunities for girls in IT in Ukraine. Ukraine first took part in the program in 2017 and has already released 15 teams of girls who have developed mobile apps that help solve community problems.

“Western NIS Enterprise Fund glad that the topic of women’s leadership gets support in Ukraine. The Technovation Challenge is one of the important initiatives that helps girls understand their role in society, break down all those stereotypes about women that impose the environment and make this world a better place. “
Yaroslav Johnson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Western NIS Enterprise Fund.

“Only in the first year of Ukraine’s accession to the program, we are seeing good results: 15 teams presented their applications at a regional event in Kyiv, a summer camp was organized in Lviv, where 5 teams made prototypes for cities, and the team from Zaporozhia visited San Francisco within the framework of World award winners. Now these girls are examples for others in terms of perseverance, entrepreneurial skills, and most importantly responsible leadership.”
Irina Ozimok, head of the Western NIS Enterprise Fund’s Local Economic Development Program.

“This year, our ambitions for Technovation Ukraine are more teams of girls who will overcome all stages of the competition and will offer applications to their communities; it’s a powerful network of mentors who are ready to help the girls to implement their plans, and once again to declare in the cities and villages of Ukraine, that girls want and can be leaders in the IT field.”
Nadiia Babynska, Co-ordinator of the Technovation Challenge in Ukraine

The event is intended not only to introduce the rules for recruiting teams and the principles of work of mentors, but also to inspire Ukrainian girls with success stories of successful women in IT and leaders in Ukrainian society.
